Fellow Kennels

·         Canil Southern Soul (Porto Alegre, Brazil, no website) Together with Ana Clara Alves we work very closely towards improving and widening the strain of White Minis present in South America. We co-own several White minis and we have co-bred several White mini litters.

Kennel Roxy’s Pride (The Netherlands, recently moved to Germany) Home of many excellent Schnauzers with outstanding structure. Ingrid Stolzenbach from Roxy’s Pride has created one of the best lines of White Minis currently on the rings in Europe. She is the owner of Phil Blues La Nanasim, to my opinion, the best built White Mini alive, an excellent producer and sire to our star, Boltres Believe in Me (Bella).

·    Made in Spain (Spain). Home to excellent White Mini Schnauzers. The dogs bred at Made in Spain have a perfect combination of European lines, which provide excellent structure, combined with Brazilian/American lines which introduce small size and the characteristic double harsh coat. Made in Spain Kennel is the home of our Made in Spain Glamour, a daughter of Veronique of Roxy’s Pride and Made in Spain Bien y Bien.

       Xebec Kennel (Germany) White Schnauzers.

·    Schnauz Haus (Argentina). Mónica & Jorge together with their excellent Blacks and Salt & Peppers, have guided us and encouraged us from the beginning in the project of breeding the White Mini variety.

Grooming

Stripping – Trimming

The Miniature Schnauzer (as well as the other Schnauzers and most of the Terriers) is a wirehaired breed with a soft undercoat and a hard outer coat. In order to preserve the quality and texture of the coat, our dog will need regular stripping sessions. The stripping technique consists of pulling or plucking the outer coat and the undercoat off so that it will re-grow hard and wired.  Afterwards the texture can be maintained through the trimming technique, pulling off only the soft and wooly undercoat, letting the harder coat visible especially on the head and back. This is the correct method to be used with a show Schnauzer but there is no need to put our home pet through this long, expensive and painful procedure.

The following link explains with clear steps how to groom a show Miniature Schnauzer. http://www.katewerk.com/trim.html

Clipping

If we want to groom our Miniature Schnauzer so that it looks like a show Schnauzer (although the hair will feel soft rather than harsh) we can clip its hair with a clipper machine (the outer harsh coat is cut letting the soft wooly undercoat appear). The appearance will be almost the same, the main difference is the lack of harshness of the coat. In some varieties, the original color of the coat tends to weaken or loose brightness, but in the White variety there is no visible difference in the color between a stripped and a clipped dog.
